December 09 Grove Update 16 December 2009 Telegraph Hill

In the grove flowering is just finishing and fruit set begins.  It has been a huge season for flower all across Hawke’s Bay.  We hope this will transform into a great fruit set.  Olive

Usually we get about 30% fruit to flower ratio, this is very high compared to Europe where it can be as low as 5%.  Fruit set is dependant on the weather in a 3 week window, wind is needed for pollination and adverse weather (storms/late frosts etc) can lower the pollination rate.

2 New Products:  Lemon Wasabi Mayonnaise and Drunken Prunes are available in the Olivery Shop.
