Warren is dwarfed by the high trees prior to 'pruning'!
Why did we make these drastic cuts? Put simply: Productivity. Grove management inputs vs fruit out put. These pictures show extreme renewal pruning, these trees had become too big so starting over with this section of the grove was the decision. Rest assured these trees are not in our 'Adopt an olive tree' program!
On the upside the views from Villa 2 are now unlimited! But not for long (we hope). These Barnea trees will bounce back to head high in 6 months, and produce fruit in three years.

If you have a tree at home now is the time to prune it, cut off any ragged branches and shape the tree to fit your space. The tree will grow new shoots from where you cut it.
Did you know: From planting New Zealand Olive trees produce olives in five years, in some hot mediterranean climates it can be 40 years before a tree will fruit.
